Markus Krösche has been the sporting director of RB Leipzig since 2019 and is responsible for all things concerning players and transfers. He handles negotiations with all relevant parties (player, agent, club) and is ultimately responsible for making transfers. Additionally, Markus Krösche is the face of the sporting management, representing the club, for example, at press conferences or in interviews.
As Technical director since summer 2020, Christopher Vivell has been responsible for the strategic direction of squad planning in line with an overarching transfer philosophy. All transfers, past, present, and future, are made in line with this unified strategy. This includes all recruitment and scouting measures, across all age groups and on a global scale, including in Brazil and the USA (New York). Christopher Vivell is also responsible for the development and maintenance of the global RB footballing philosophy.
Florian Scholz completes the sporting management team, as Commercial Director Sport and CMO (Chief Media Officer). He is responsible for budgetary and administrative budget issues, as well as the sporting orientation and philosophy of the club within the sport. Florian Scholz also represents the sporting interests in the corporate office. In this role, he is responsible for contract and process management. Additionally, he has been responsible for the communication and public image of the club since 2015.
