- "Games like today's are tough, but you have to win them to stay at the top end of the table. It was by no means a master class from us today, but the three points are the most important thing. Now we’ve build a little bit of a gap between us and fourth place, and can focus more on individual games.
In the first half, we had some good transitions but failed to get the ball into the box. At half time, we changed a little bit and made some substitutions. In doing so, we were able to control the game more and bring some more calmness to the game.
The build up to the goal was really good. It was wonderful between the lines and with depth; it’s what we discussed at the break. After the goal, the game didn’t have many chances. Péter Gulácsi made a great save to prevent the equaliser.
Justin took a knock to his calf which stopped him from running freely. Therefore, we took him off to avoid any risk."
- "We didn’t play fantastically, but obviously we’re pleased to have won. Neither team created many chances and both were strong at the back.
That makes it more important to have got the win in the end. Above all, in the first half, Hoffenheim made it difficult for us and we weren’t able to break through.
In the end we changed a little and that worked better. It was a game decided by one goal, and it was us who got it. If we want to be at the top end come the end of the season, these are the kind of games we have to win!"
"It wasn’t our best performance today and it definitely wasn’t a nice game of football. We made a lot of mistakes in our build-up play and didn’t have the composure on the ball that we usually do. Therefore, the game was a bit hectic and we lacked chances. For me, it's important that the defence plays well, and they did so today. The boys fought tremendously and showed great teamwork. Hoffenheim didn't have many chances. In the end it was a typical 1-0 game, where the first goal is the deciding one."
