A good start to the season! Die Roten Bullen defeated 1. FC Nürnberg 3-0 in the DFB-Pokal first round, therefore booking their place in the next round of the cup.
In an empty Max-Morlock-Stadion, head coach Julian Nagelsmann's team produced a concentrated and confident performance and took the lead with an early goal from Amadou Haidara (3'). Die Roten Bullen's dominance was represented in their possession percentage, which was over 70% over the 90 minutes. The only thing missing from the performance was perhaps the chance conversion, as after 45 minutes 12 shots had only resulted in the one goal.
After half time, RBL continued in control of the game, and in the 67th minute substitute Yussuf Poulsen doubled the lead after some great interplay between fellow substitute Emil Forsberg and Hee-chan Hwang. Shortly before the final whistle, debutant Hee-chan got himself on the scoresheet and secured the win for Die Roten Bullen.
The confortable win ensures RBL's progression into the second round of the DFB-Pokal, which will take place shortly before Christmas on 22nd/23rd December.
