"It wasn't our best game"

Head coach Julian Nagelsmann, Yussuf Poulsen, Willi Orban and Tyler Adams on the draw against TSG Hoffenheim.

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "It definitely wasn't our best game. Even though we didn't create enough goalscoring chances, we were the more dominant side and were a bit unfortunate at the end with Yussuf Poulsen's header. We had some good moments and two or three good efforts that we didn't make the most of.

Overall, there was a lack of aggressive runs into the area, above all away from the ball. Therefore, we didn't get the win in the end."

Yussuf Poulsen:

  • "We're disappointed, especially after we thought we'd got the last-minute winner. If someone else puts the ball over the line after my header, the goal stands. But the way it was, was justifiably ruled out. It's tough to take.

It wasn't our best game in attack todayand created too few goalscoring chances, therefore the result is understandable."

 Willi Orban:

  • "We were more demanding, especially in the second half, and dominated the game. Therefore, the decision to rule out Yussi's goal was tough to take.

We deserved the win today. However, we weren't decisive enough in the final thirdand missed the big chances. Looking back, that was a decisive factor."

Tyler Adams:

  • "I have mixed emotions after the game. We're normally very dominant at home and usually have control over the game. However, Hoffenheim were compact in defence and didn't make it easy for us. We created a few chances but failed to score.

The focus is now on Köln on Tuesday. We want to comfortably pick up three points there."
