Another home win! RBL defeat Werder 2-0!

Sabitzer (26') and Olmo (41') on the scoresheet | Poulsen involved in both goals

The home run continues! The Roten Bullen defeat Werder Bremen 2-0 to record their sixth consecutive Bundesliga victory at the Red Bull Arena.
Leipzig were in control of the game and took a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Marcel Sabitzer (penalty, 26’) and Dani Olmo (41’). The team failed to take all of their chances and allowed Bremen hope of picking up points right until the end. However, the visitors did not pose any real threat in front of goal.
A successful week comes to an end with three more points, and the Roten Bullen now sit on 24 points after 11 games in the Bundesliga.

22nd minute: The first real chance comes in the 22nd minute, as Dani Olmo flicks the ball into the path of Justin Kluivert. Kluivert's shot flies over the bar from close range.
23rd minute: Nordi Mukiele's cross is hit first time by Olmo, but Werder's Ömer Toprak is able to get in the way of the shot.
26th minute, GOOOAAL FOR RBL! Ludwig Augustinsson fouls Yussuf Poulsen as the pair challenge for a high ball and the referee awards a penalty…
… Marcel Sabitzer converts from the spot to score his third spot kick of the season.
36th minute: Werder goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka is unable to fully clear a ball, and Poulsen attempts a bicycle lob from outside the area, but the effort goes just wide.
38th minute: Poulsen again! Pavlenka parries a Mukiele cross into the path of Poulsen, but the attacker misses the target to the right.
41st minute, GOOOAAL FOR RBL! Magical football! Poulsen flicks on a pass from Amadou Haidara towards Olmo. The Spain international plays it through the legs of Groß and finishes to double the lead. What a goal!

Half time:
A deserved lead. The team is in control of the game despite the Werder counter attack. However, some of the attacks are lacking some precision and therefore don't create any serious danger.

62nd minute: The first real chance of the second half. Haidara is brought down in the area by Groß. Although it could have been a penalty shout, there is no whistle from the referee.
69th minute: Leipzig keep coming! Kluivert fires a shot at Pavlenka, before Poulsen chips it over the keeper but is denied by the post.
85th minute: The away side look to attack but have been harmless in the final third all game. Tahith Chong gets space in the area but the final shot is way off target in what is the final moment of note in the game. The final whistle is blown and Leipzig keep the home record intact!
