"There was more in it for us!"

Markus Krösche, Julian Nagelsmann and Emil Forsberg react to the 1-1 draw at home to Eintracht Frankfurt

Julian Nagelsmann:

  •  "We're frustrated with the result today, because the way we played was good enough to win the game. Above all, I really liked how we played in the first 20 minutes of the game. Overall, we got into the final third a lot, but when we were there we didn't manage to attack the goal often enough to get a shot away. We should have taken the lead in the first half, even by two goals.

We made the wrong decision too often in the final third today. We made far too little out of our dominance. Before their goal, we didn't defend well and gave Frankfurt too much space, which they exploited well. After that, the game was more open and we were no longer so superior; the game could have gone either way."

Markus Krösche:

  • "There was more in it for us and three points would have been deserved. We were the more active team with clearer chances, but Frankfurt fought well and have a very good goalkeeper in Kevin Trapp.

Especially in the final third, we were often too sloppy, especially in the first half. Therefore, the final ball wasn't always good enough to create clear scoring chances. We have to be more focused in those situations.

Overall, though, we had a good game and gave our all. Therefore, we take it as it is and keep going."

Emil Forsberg:

  • "We had a good game and created a lot of goalscoring chances. We were also good in one-on-ones, but the final decision wasn't the correct one on too many occasions. We lacked the final punch today. However, we were playing against a very good Frankfurt team.

When we go ahead, we want to win the game. Unfortunately, our performance wasn't enough for three points today. We'll have to put that behind us now and go all out again on Friday against Arminia Bielefeld.

There are now four points between us and FC Bayern, but that doesn't really matter to us. We want to win each of the upcoming games and then we'll see where that takes us. Our aim is to qualify for the Champions League again, and we're well on the way to doing that."
