"We're in the mood to win games!"

Emil Forsberg, Julian Nagelsmann, Christopher Nkunku and Marcel Sabitzer sum up RBL's 2-1 win over PSG in the Champions League.

Julian Nagelsmann und Gäste-Trainer Thomas Tuchel auf der PK nach #RBLPSG.

Emil Forsberg:

  • "We deserved to win. It's not easy to get through a game against a team like PSG, but we were hungry today and desperately wanted the win. You could see that on the pitch. PSG are particularly good in possession.

We tried to put them under pressure from the start, which worked really well. Even after conceding we didn't stop, didn't let our heads sink. Every forward wanted to score a goal of their own today - I'm obviously delighted about my penalty.

We always want to win, that includes PSG away in three weeks' time. Obviously it'll be tough, especially if players like Neymar and Mbappe return, but we're in the mood to win games! It was really important for us to take three points tonight."

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "I am very happy that we were able to keep the three points in Leipzig - a meaningful step in the right direction. We didn't start well tonight, we invited PSG to score with our own mistakes. They really put the pressure on from the start. Péter Gulácsi's penalty save was definitely a turning point in the game - a match-winning moment, if you like. We can only thank him for it!

After that we were much better and could have gone level earlier than we did through Amadou Haidara. After the break, we managed to get a good balance between defending deep and pressing high - we were the better team. We had the game under control and responded to the early setback. I told the lads at half time they could have a lot more belief in their own game and that they were capable of competing with PSG. We managed to turn the game in our favour and played with a lot more courage.

Some individuals had were really on it tonight and worked incredibly hard, but we got this win as a team. I am pleased that we deserved to win and we will set out to win in Paris as well. With Basaksehir also winning tonight, everything is a little more open and interesting in the group."

Christopher Nkunku:

  • "Staying in the game despite conceding the early goal was really important for us. We gradually started playing with a lot more focus and aggression and were able to implement our coach's instructions, especially in the second half. That's how we were able to win the game.

At half time we sat down together and agreed that we have to win this game. Thanks to Emil's penalty we were able to do that - deservedly so. It was obviously really special for me to score against PSG, but the fact that it got us level in the game was much more important."

Marcel Sabitzer:

  • "We had the worst start you could have imagined today. Against such an opposition it is difficult to come back, but we showed our fight and character. We created several chances and took more and more control. In the end it was a deserved victory which makes me very happy."

I have to praise our forwards above all today, they were class. At the back we were a little susceptible, something we really need to work on when playing at this level. If we play like we did today, with the right amount of composure on the ball, then we can beat them in Paris as well. After putting in one of my worst ever performances against Manchester United, I was desperate to help the team as captain again today - I think I was able to do just that."
