3-2 loss away at Mainz 05

Adams and Halstenberg on scoresheet for RBL | Moussa Niakhaté equalises twice | Leandro Barreiro with only goal of second half | Yussuf Poulsen misses out with adductor problem

RB Leipzig fell to a 3-2 defeat against Mainz 05. Goals from Tyler Adams and Marcel Halstenberg's goals gave RBL the lead twice but were not enough to secure victory in the end.

Mainz defender Moussa Niakhaté scored a brace of goals from set pieces to level the game twice in the first half.

In the only goal of the second half, M05's new signing Danny da Costa crossed from the right hand side to Leandro Barreiro, who turned home from a tight angle.
