"These are the kind of games you live for!"

Head coach Julian Nagelsmann, captain Marcel Sabitzer and Torschütze und goal-scorer and provider Emil Forsberg react to the 3-3 thriller against FC Bayern Munich

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "It was a thrilling game. Both teams gave a lot and played really well. I'm very pleased with the point. The team deserve credit for the way they played today.
The two goals we conceded in the first half frustrated me a little, but that is simply the quality of FC Bayern.

A performance like today's give you momentum going into the game against Manchester United. It always gives a team a good feeling when they bring such a strong game against one of the best teams in Europe. The boys are machines, they need to be aware of that looking ahead to Tuesday's game.

Nordi Mukiele, Ibou Konaté and Dayot Upamecano defended well today. Despite that, we conceded three goals. We need to work on that, so we concede less in the future."

Emil Forsberg:

  • "It was a really great game between two sides who wanted to win. It was fantastic to be out on the pitch - these are the kind of games you live for as a footballer!

Of course, you feel the high amount of games on the legs, but I love football and want to play every day. We're a good team who always think positively. Therefore the current schedule doesn't bother us a lot."
Emil Forsberg provided the assist for the first goal and scored the third.

Marcel Sabitzer:

  • "That was definitely a very interesting game for the neutrals. Both teams played with an open style. The coach gave us a good plan, which we stuck to. After 60 minutes we lost a bit of our strength and lacked a little precision. Before that, we definitely caused Bayern some problems. Therefore, a big compliment to the match plan and the team who carried it out so well.

We're very pleased with the result. You never know what will happen here. For example, we'd never scored in Munich before. Today we managed three and got a positive result. But of course, we wanted to win the game. We will analyse the game and look closely at what we didn't do so well.

Now we're looking ahead to the game against Manchester United on Tuesday. We want to reach the knockouts at all costs. We're really up for the game and I'm convinced that we are capable of winning!"
