A top-of-the-table clash that certainly lived up to the billing. In a spectacular, intense game full of goals, the Roten Bullen shared the points with champions FC Bayern Munich in a 3-3 draw.
Leipzig began bravely, trying to break down the home side’s build-up play as high up the pitch as possible, while playing quickly on the counter on the wings. The efforts were rewarded in the 18th minute as Christopher Nkunku gave RBL the lead at the Allianz Arena. In six turbulent minutes, FC Bayern turned the game around through Jamal Musiala and Thomas Müller, before Leipzig returned fire straight away with Justin Kluivert scoring his first goal for the club. After a great first half of football, the two sides were unable to be separated.
Coach Nagelsmann sent the side out unchanged after the break. Just three minutes into the second half, the ball was in the Bayern net once again after some fantastic link-up play from the Leipzig boys. Angelino delivered a perfect ball into the area which was headed home by Emil Forsberg. In the 75th minute however, Müller was on hand again to tie the scores with his second goal of the game.
In a fantastic game of football, Leipzig put in a great performance and deservedly took a point home from Munich.
