A strong comeback but nothing to show for it! In a thrilling game, the Red Bulls showed their determination to come back after trailing 2-0, but left Dortmund defeated. Now it's time to pick ourselves up and focus on the DFB-Pokal final on 13th May!
 
Both teams had big chances early on. While Hee-chan Hwangwas denied by the foot of Dortmund goalkeeper Marwin Hitz (3'), Marco Reus beat Peter Gulacsi with a powerful effort (7'). There were more chances at both ends, but none were significant enough to change the 1-0 scoreline.
 
The Red Bulls controlled much of the second half, as they showed teir courage after falling further behind thanks to a goal from Jadon Sancho just six minutes into the second half. The boys didn't let their heads drop and found a way back into the game, Lukas Klostermann heading in a corner (63') before Dani Olmo levelled the scores (77'). However, the team were unable to pick up a result, Sancho doubling his tally to give the home side a late win (87').

After a strong performance which included a goal and an assist in the DFB-Pokal semifinal, Hee-Chan Hwang is rewarded with a start today.

He is joined by Emil Forsberg. Our number 10 converted Hwang's assist to score the last-minute winner and book our place in the DFB-Pokal final against BVB, which will be played just five days after today's game.

Mr. Reliable! Peter Gulácsi is in the RBL goal again today. Our number 1 has kept 20 clean sheets in 42 games this season and recently extended his contract until 2025 and will look to celebrate the occasion with a clean sheet.

3rd minute: A promising start! Marcel Sabitzer plays into the open space to Hwang, who beats Mats Hummels and gets through on Marwin Hitz, who denies him with a save with his foot.

4th minute: A quick start for both teams! Marco Reus is played in from the left, but is blocked at the last second. Shortly after, a cross into the Leipzig penalty area goes just wide of the far post.

7th minute: 1-0 to BVB. Hazard flicks the ball to Reus, who breaks into the penalty area from the right and hammers the ball into the net, leaving Pete with no chance.

19th minute: The Red Bulls don't let their heads drop and look to play forward, but so far they haven't found themselves in any scoring position.

21st minute: Dahoud spreads the ball out to the left, but Guerreiro's cross is blocked by Kampl. Guerreiro then tries a shot from the edge of the penalty area, but it flies over the crossbar.
31st minute: BVB on the attack again. A long-range shot by Dahoud is deflected dangerously by Willi Orban. Fortunately, the ball goes past the left post. Afterwards, Hazard is denied by Pete, who blocks a shot with his foot.  

36th minute: Dortmund hit on the break. Reus sends Jadon Sancho down the right, who hits his shot into the side netting.

38th minute: RBL come close! Forsberg plays Sabitzer through into the area. Our captain doesn't make ideal contact with the ball and Hitz has no problem.

47th minute: Kevin Kampl wins the ball and finds Sabitzer, who takes a shot on goal. Substitute goalkeeper Roman Bürki makes no mistake.

50th minute: RBL keep on pushing! Kampl tries one from 20 metres, but can't level the scores.

51st minute: 2-0 BVB. Sancho breaks into the penalty area from the left, beats Lukas Klostermann and finishes into the far corner.

63rd minute: THERE IT IS! Forsberg swings a corner towards the six-yard box. Lukas Klostermann makes a run, rises high and heads into the Dortmund goal. One more to go!

68th minute: Almost the leveller! Substitute Justin Kluivert gets down the left and plays to Dani Olmo in the area. He has his back to goal, but shoots on the turn and can only find the side-netting.

73rd minute: Welcome back, Konni! After a long injury layoff, Konrad Laimer is back on the pitch again, replacing Kevin Kampl.

77th minute: LEVEL AGAIN! Substitute Amadou Haidara with a fantastic pass to Hwang, who gets into space and crosses to Dani Olmo, who just has to finish into an empty net. YESSS!

83rd minute: Upa to the rescue! Against the run of play, Dortmund's Reus finds himself bearing down in front of goal. Our centre back is on hand to block the shot.

87th minute: That's bitter! After we come back into the game, BVB strike again. Sancho finds Guerreiro in the area, who gets into the six yard box and plays it back to the Englishman, who just has to slot home. 3-2 BVB.

90+2nd minute: RBL attack again! Marcel Halstenberg has space on the left and finds Dani Olmo inside. He shoots from the edge of the area but his effort goes over the bar.
