No points in Gladbach! RBL in 1-0 defeat

Hannes Wolf scores winning goal for Gladbach (60') | RBL lose despite chances and drop to third place | Haidara returns, Adams and Halstenberg miss out with injury

First defeat in the Bundesliga! RB Leipzig suffered a 1-0 defeat against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday evening. After the first loss of the season, RBL have dropped to third place in the table.

Over long stretches, it was a game of tactical battles, individual duels and the play was based around the middle of the park. RBL enjoyed the better scoring opportunities up until the hosts took the lead through Hannes Wolf (66'). Afterwards the game opened up and although RBL created a few good chances to equalise, Gladbach held on to secure three points.

There is no time to dwell on the two losses within four days, with two more matches on the horizon in the coming week against Paris (Wednesday, 21:00 CET) and Freiburg (Saturday, 15:30 CET).
