RB Leipzig and Leverkusen share the points in 1-1 draw

Honours even in Leverkusen. Die Roten Bullen and Bayer 04 Leverkusen were unable to be separated at the BayArena, with matchday 2 ending in a 1-1 draw.
The 6,000 fans in the BayArena were treated to an enjyable and end-to-end game, in which Leipzig started the better of the two sides, taking the lead through a brilliant strike from from Emil Forsberg in the 14th minute. The lead didn't last long however, as Kerem Demirbay's incredible effort levelled the game in the 20th minute.
Following the equaliser, it was the hosts who began to enjoy more control of the game, and continued into the second half. Leverkusen enjoyed more possession (60 percent) and won more duels (53 percent). Leverkusen came closest to taking the lead in the second half, as Bellarabi played in Florian Wirtz on a counter attack, who hit his shot into the post. The scores remained level at 1-1 until full tme, and RBL took a point back to Leipzig.



Match highlights:

4th minute: The first attack of the game falls the way of the hosts. A good cross from Moussa Diaby, aimed towards Patrick Schick, is dealt with by Dayot Upamecano.

8th minute: Big chance for Leipzig! After some impressive play from Emil Forsberg, Kevin Kampl has a chance to finish but doesn't make good contact with the ball.

14th minute: Gooooaal for RB Leipzig! And what a goal it is! Yussuf Poulsen plays on a great ball from Gulacsi to Emil Forsberg, who beats Lars Bender and fires into the roof of the net.

20th minute: Leverkusen equalise. A slip from Angelino allows the hosts to attack on the counter, which Diaby is unable to convert. The ball is cleared but collected by Kerem Demirbay who fires in from distance off the underside of the bar.

27th minute: Yussuf Poulsen has to leave the game with a muscle issue. New signing Alexander Sørloth replaces him to make his RBL debut. Welcome to the Bundesliga, Alex!

40th minute: #PeteTheWall! What a save from our number 1! Patrick Schick's close-range header is saved fantastically by Peter Gulacsi, who demonstrated fantastic reflexes. The scores remain 1-1 as the teams head in for half time.

59th minute: Saved by the post! Leverkusen hit on the counter attack and Bellarabi plays in Wirtz, who strikes the post.
74th minute: A good free kcik from substitute Christopher Nkunku is saved by keeper Hradecky. The rebound falls to fellow substitute Hee-chan Hwang, who was unable to turn the ball into the net.

77th minute: Former Leipzig man Schick curls the ball into the far post from the edge of the area, but the goal is ruled out as the attacker was in an offisde position.

82nd minute: Angelino fires a low effort towards goal, but sees his effort go narrowly wide of the far post. The scores remain level and RBL take a point back to Leipzig.
