New signing Alexander Sørloth was introduced to the media alongside sporting director Markus Krösche and answered the journalists’ questions.
Alexander Sørloth:
- "We started holding talks with other clubs after the season finished in Turkey. Right from the start, it was clear to me that I wanted to play for RB Leipzig. RBL have a fast, attacking style of play that fits perfectly to me—I want to score goals.
I don’t want to set any targets on how many goals I want to score. It’s not important how many I get by the end of the season. The most important thing is that we, as a team, are successful. I also used to do speed skating and play handball when I was younger. That has helped me to improve my acceleration. I really want to bring my pace to the team in Leipzig.”
Markus Krösche on ...
... Alexander Sørloth:
- "Alexander Sørloth was hooked on RB Leipzig right from the start, which is what convinced us. He’d been on our list for a while after having such an impressive season in Turkey. We made first contact in July and found out that he’s not just an outstanding footballer, he’s a great personality. The experience that he brings will help our team."
… completing the transfer:
- “It definitely wasn’t a normal transfer; the contract situation was complicated. That meant that it took a while to find solutions. But in the end, we’re just pleased that Alexander is here with us now. I’m looking forward to seeing him play in a Leipzig shirt!”
