"It was a fantastic result today!"

Timo Werner, Willi Orban, Julian Nagelsmann and Emil Forsberg with their thoughts on the 3:1 victory in Gladbach

  • "We played really well for periods, but we also allowed our opponents to work the ball around too often. We were maybe a bit lucky to be leading at half-time. In my opinion, Gladbach were the stronger team in the first half.

We then did really well to find the second goal and we were dominant. It was tight at the end but then the third goal obviously put the game to bed. Three games, three wins - we're absolutely delighted. Of course, it's a great feeling to score a hat-trick. It was a fantastic result today."

Willi Orban:

  • "We put in a good performance from the start. The game was played at a high tempo but we quickly realised where the space was and found the right balance.

“At the end of the day, we were the deserved winners. We played a really varied game. We all know about Timo's quality and we deployed him perfectly today."

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "Gladbach were the better side for the first ten minutes and had the clearer chances. It then developed into a heated match and there was barely any respite. We deserved to take the lead just before the break. We were the stronger team, with the exception of the last five minutes.

Yann Sommer made two world-class saves that kept them in the match. We had a bit of luck at the end but it was not an undeserved victory!"

Emil Forsberg:

  • "It's not easy to come to Gladbach and win but we did really well, especially in terms of our mentality. I'm really proud of the whole team. We're obviously extremely happy with nine points from three games."
