"We are on a really good run!"

Julian Nagelsmann, Marcel Sabitzer and Willi Orban give their thoughts on the 3-0 win at Werder Bremen

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • We weren't at our best defensively in the first half; we needed to be more dominant. We weren't commanding enough so we need to work on that. It was good to see us taking advantage of set pieces for the first two goals. It was easier for us after the goals. We improved in the second half after the game. We have practiced set pieces but it wasn't all rehearsed - you have to let the players come up with their own ideas."

Marcel Sabitzer:

  • “Today was a lot of fun. The coach always sets us up with a plan and he also gives me a lot of freedom and self-confidence. Bremen played well for the first 20 minutes – but then we really turned it on. We worked on set pieces during the week because they can decide games sp it was good to profit from that. After a tiring and stressful week travelling, it’s great to get the result we wanted.
We are on a good run at the moment. We want to stay on top for as long as possible and maybe even get a taste of something at the end."

Willi Orban:

  • "I've shown a couple of times before that I've got a headed goal in my locker. It was a fantastic delivery from Christopher Nkunku. He's been working on that in training and it paid off. We struggled to create chances from open play in this game so it was great we could overcome that with two set piece goals. We were extrememly efficient and Sabi's free kick was simply incredible - we're getting better every week. We need to carry on with this consistency when we have European and domestic matches in the same week - then we have a chanec to really challenge."
