"We missed our chances and we paid the price!"

Christopher Nkunku, Diego Demme, Emil Forsberg und Julian Nagelsmann all spoke after the draw in Leverkusen.

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "It was crazy that we didn't go in to half time three or four up. We paid the price for missing our chances - they scored with their first chance of the second half.

It happens so often in football - if you miss your chances you get punished. I'm happy with our point total though, and we'll continue to fight."

Christopher Nkunku:

  • "We tried everything today. In the end it was annoying that we couldn't get the win. I took in the pass well from Marcel Halstenberg, I saw the keeper was coming out so I lobbed him and luckily it went in.
I went for the ball in the tackle with Aranguiz, but unfortunately I just caught him. I'm sorry that he got injured, I'll be calling him personally later to apologise."

Diego Demme:

  • "We had great chances to win today, eespecially in the first half. But Leverkusen came out much better after the break so I think 1-1 was a fair result.

Christoper Nkunku's equaliser was so important for us - we needed to get some sort of reward for all our chances. It's a shame that we couldn't win but we can definitely build on this performance."
Diego Demme

Emil Forsberg:

  • "We played really well in the first half, had a lot of chances, but we couldn't get the goal. We showed that we're still a good team despite suffering two losses recently. Given the chances we had, we should have got at least three goals today, so to come away with a 1-1 is a bit disappointing."
