2-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt

A first defeat since October 2019 | Chances go begging in the first half | Frankfurt tough to crack | Opposition goals early and late in the second half (48', 90+4')

The Bulls suffered a tough 2-0 defeat away to Eintracht Frankfurt, conceding a wonder goal early in the second half, followed by a nail in the coffin right at the end of the game.

1,700 travelling Leipzig fans watched their team dominate the opening stages of the game. However, Julian Nagelsmann's men couldn't make their pressure pay and wasted a number of chances to take the lead early on.

Almany Touré then put the hosts in front at the start of the second half with a powerful strike from the edge of the area (48'). The Bulls pushed to find an equaliser but didn't create enough clear-cut chances to really threaten Frankfurt's resolute defence. Then, in the final moments of the game, Goncalo Paciencia set up Filip Kostic to make it 2-0 and put the game beyond any doubt (90+4').

Shortly afterwards, the referee called time on the team's first defeat since October 2019.
