3-0 win against Bremen keeps us top!

The Bulls beat Bremen 3-0 on MD5 | Willi Orban's header (13'), Marcel Sabitzer's free kick (35') and Marcelo Saracchi's rebound secure the victory (83') | Konrad Laimer sent off for second bookable offence (64')

Top of the table! After five Bundesliga matches, RBL remain unbeaten and the 3-0 away victory at SV Werder Bremen sends us straight back into first place in the league.

The Bulls hit the ground running and took control of the match early on. We were soon rewarded with the opening goal when captain Willi Orban rose above the crowded penalty area to head home Christopher Nkunku's delightful corner delivery. Clearly the stronger of the two sides, RBL continued to push for a second goal. It arrived in spectacular fashion. Marcel Sabitzer curled an absolute beauty of a free kick right into the top corner to make it 2-0. The boys went into the dressing room at the break feeling comfortable after a commanding display.

However, the mood changed in the second half as tensions on both sides started to rise. Leipzig went down to ten men after Konrad Laimer was sent off for a second bookable offence and the tide started to turn. Our defence held firm under real pressure from Bremen. Finally, we could breathe easy as super sub Marcelo Saracchi converted Haidara's rebounded shot to put the game beyond any doubt.
