Another draw at home

Paderborn equalise late on | Patrik Schick opened the scoring | Upamecano sees red | Chances for Dani Olmo and Timo Werner

Still on the hunt for a home win! Lots of chances but no rewards as Leipzig drop points at home to SC Paderborn. A late equaliser for the guests sees the sides share the points in what was a tough afternoon for the Bulls.

Despite Marcel Sabitzer's absence through injury, therre was good news for RBL: Kevin Kampl started. Péter Gulácsi wore the armband for Leipzig in the Austrian's absence. Leipzig looked dangerous early on as Timo Werner threatened. However, the German's shot was deflected and easy for Paderborn 'keeper Leopold to deal with (3'). Moments later, Christopher Nkunku looked to bend one in at the far post, but Zingerle again denied the hosts. Midway through the first half, Schick showed why he is such red-hot form. The Czech was fed beautifully by Werner and there was no way Schick could miss. 1-0 to the Bulls (27'). But the mood at half time was markably soured by Dayot Upamecano's red card (44').

Nagelsmann set the team up to be much more defensive in the second half, but still looked to make an impact on the front foot. Dani Olmo and Timo Werner both had chances to put the game to bed. The former fired low to Zingerle's left, but the Paderborn stopper got down well to parry the ball away (60'), while Werner failed to finish from a tight angle after rounding the keeper with ease (67'). Paderborn would not be put off and began to dominate a tense finish to the match. Then. heathbreak for the Bulls after Christian Strohdiek equalised for the away side (90'+1).
