Away win in Cologne. After conceding early, RB Leipzig fought back for a half-time lead in the RheinEnergieSTADION. Timo Werner extended the lead shortly after the break, and Dani Olmo sealed it with his first Bundesliga goal.
RBL were without the injured Kevin Kampl and the suspended Marcel Halstenberg; Angelino and Nordi Mukiele replaced them in the starting line-up. Mukiele was on hand to create an early chance for the away side, but Timo Werner's shot was saved by Timo Horn (5'). The home side reacted quickly and got their noses in front through Jhon Córdoba (7'). RBL recovered quickly from this early setback and settled into long periods of possession. Patrik Schick's header from Angelino's precise cross deservedly brought the Bulls level (20'). A brilliant Christopher Nkunku finish got Leipzig's noses in front though. The Frenchman's first touch looked to have let him down, but Nkunku stayed calm and produced a delightful chip over Horn to make it 2-1 (38').
Leipzig came out of the traps quickly in the second half and soon doubled their lead. A quick piece of thinking and a wonderful kick-out from Gulácsi found Werner, who raced towards Horn's net. Leipzig's start foward remained calm and ruthlessly slotted it home - 3-1 to Leipzig (50'). But the action was far from done, as the hosts cut the defecit thanks to a wonderful Anthony Modeste strike from distance (55'). Two minutes later though, Leipzig restored their two-goal cushion. The ball dropped to Olmo after a poor clearing header, the Spaniard was cool, calm and collected, and blasted it home for his first Bundesliga goal (57'). Shortly before the end, Modeste made the away side nervous, but his shot went just wide (87'). It ended 4-2 and gave Leipzig a much-needed three points to regain third place in the table.

Highlights
20': Equaliser for RBL! Angelino's cross is a good one and Patrik Schick rises to meet it; the Czech's header loops over Horn and into the top corner. 1-1!
55': Köln are back in it. Klostermann cannot clear decisively and the balls lands at the feet of Anthony Modeste. He curls an unstoppable shot from 20 yards out past Gulacsi to make it 3-2.
87': Ellyes Skhiri plays Modeste in behind the Leipzig defence. In a one-on-one with Gulacsi, he puts it past the post. That would have made for a nervous finish.
