"It's an incredible feeling!"

Head coach Julian Nagelsmann, Peter Gulácsi and goalscorers Timo Werner and Emil Forsberg share their thoughts on the draw away to Lyon that secured the top spot in the group.

  • "We had two or three chances on the counter in the first half and could have gone further ahead. In the second half, we lacked the same intensity that we started with.

We weren't moving it around freely in the second half and we lost our shape. It's important that we implement what we talk about before games so that we can continue to develop."

Timo Werner:

  • "Of course, this is really special for us. Not only is it the first time we've made it into the Champions League last 16, but we've also topped our group! We obviously would have preferred to win tonight, so that's frustrating!"

Emil Forsberg:

  • "We finished top of the group, which is obviously an incredible feeling! Now we need to turn our attention back to the Bundesliga. We have three more important games before the winter break, so we need 100% focus."

Péter Gulácsi:

  • "It was a classic game of two halves from us. We were more confident on the ball in the first half but our opponents were playing for everything in the second half and we should have stayed calmer in this situation. But it's not an easy group, so we're absolutely delighted to have finished first."
