"We'll learn from it"

Head coach Julian Nagelsmann, Marcel Halstenberg, Konrad Laimer and Péter Gulácsi share their thoughts on the 2-0 defeat away to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Marcel Halstenberg:

  • "We weren't covering the edge of the area for Frankfurt's opening goal and we struggled to create good chances in the second half against physically strong opponents. We had big plans for the game and it's a tough defeat to take, but we'll learn from it."

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "The better team didn't win today. We dominated the game in the first half, created some good chances and were in control for a long time. We went behind because of a silly mistake at the start of the second half and all our composure disappeared towards the end. We lost our structure and Frankfurt used that to counter us. We're still top and we still have a lot of points. However, we're not at our best."

Konrad Laimer:

  • "We weren't making the right decisions in the final third, so we weren't threatening enough. That was our main problem. We should've been better today. Of course, we're frustrated because we weren't the worse team."

Péter Gulácsi:

  •  "We played well in the first half and were in control of the game. We got into dangerous areas but only had a few clear-cut chances. We should have scored the opening goal, though. We knew that it would be a difficult game today. We simply weren't good enough in the second half. These things happen. There are things we need to work on and that's what we'll do. Then we'll have a chance to achieve what we want to."
