"We played with power!"

Julian Nagelsmann, Timo Werner, Patrik Schick and Tyler Adams share their thoughts on the 3-1 win at home against FC Augsburg.

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "We played well and deserved to win. We played with power and put the opposition under a lot of pressure. They've been in good form recently, so we're obviously delighted with the win and want to carry on like this after the winter break.

We created a lot of chances but just couldn't seem to score in the first half. At half time, we talked about being patient and continuing to apply the pressure. We did that in the second half and also looked good from set pieces.

Tyler Adams was looking good in training over the last couple of weeks. He's a machine and I wanted to give him the chance to get back out on the pitch today."
A special moment: Tyler Adams is back in action after a six month spell on the sidelines due to injury.

Tyler Adams:

  • "It was an indescirbable feeling to finally be back in the team after being injured for so long. We go into the winter break as league leaders, which is fantastic!"

Timo Werner:

  • "It was looking like one of those games for a long time. We had a lot of chances but the ball just didn't want to cross the line. But we managed to turn it around and that shows how far we have come as a team.

Our league standing is just a snapshot and it ultimately doesn't count for much. Nevertheless, we're happy to add to our points total and go into the winter break top of the league."

Patrik Schick:

  • Augsburg made it really difficult for us but we always believed in ourselves and stayed patient. When we equalised it was like a liberation. We pushed on and got a deserved win.

I'd only scored away from home until today, so it was even nicer to get a goal at home today in our last game of the year. The fans were unbelieveable and the atmosphere was amazing - we're already looking forward to our next home game."
