"It felt like a win"

Post-match reaction from Julian Nagelsmann, Markus Krösche, Péter Gulácsi and Timo Werner following the game against Dortmund

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "It felt like a win tonight. Our first-half performance was poor. The game opened up after the break and we played with more courage and emotion. In the future, we need to make sure that we play like that from the beginning of big games like this.

We need to make sure that we play with more conviction when faced with an important match such as tonights. We can't afford to hide. We weren't able to keep up during the first half."

Markus Krösche:

  • "It was an incredible game. During the first half, we lacked some effort in our challenges. We then fought hard to take home a point in the second half. We were able to take advantage of two mistakes from Dortmund, which is always important in football. We showed real desire in the second half and we're happy with a point away to Dortmund. It's a good result!"

Péter Gulácsi:

  • "It was a poor first half from us and we were far too passive. We were more aggressive in the second half and also benefitted from a bit of luck. We wanted to play with more passion, and were able to do so after the break. We never gave up and are happy to have picked up an important point."

Timo Werner:

  •  "Both the team and myself played poorly during the first half. We need to work on those areas in which we were lacking tonight. We have a lot of potential still left in us, and want to work on developing that. I wanted to get my goal against Dortmund today and I'm delighted that I was able to help the team with two."
