Hannes Wolf unfortunately broke his ankle during Austria's match against Serbia in the U21 European Championship, and has been sidelined for the foreseeable future. Despite his injury, the 20-year-old has travelled with the squad to Seefeld. In front of the assembled press on Monday, Wolf gaves his first impressions of life at RB Leipzig.
- "I'm somewhat surprised with how well it's gone since my operation. I'm pleased with the rate I'm healing at and hope it continues over the next few weeks. My personal goal is it be able to train together with the team this year.
It's naturally hard for me as I can't really train at the camp, but I'm happy to be here in Seefeld, getting to know the lads and understanding what Julian Nagelsmann's values are. It was absolutely vital to me, and the boss, to travel.
They're all very nice here, and there's definitely no end to the fun. A lot of good work is being done here, and you can see that the next step will be taken this year. It's exciting to see how RB Leipzig works and I'm happy to be a part of it."
Luan Candido has also joined up with the squad this summer, arriving from Palmeiras in Brazil. The 18-year-old wants to find his feet as soon as possible and made his RBL debut in last week's friendly vs. FC Zürich.
- "I know that RBL is a club that focusses on young players. I want to integrate as quickly as possible and adapt to their playstyle. That also involves speaking German, which is very important to me. I want to understand my teammates and the coach out on the pitch. I'm therefore eager to start learning.
I'm at home on the left flank, playing at full-back or left midfield. It's important to always be ready and to be brave on the pitch. My role models are Marcelo and Zé Roberto, whom I try to play like."
