"We could've taken a huge step"

Julian Nagelsmann, Kevin Kampl, Lukas Klostermann and goalscorer Patrik Schick after the 1-1 draw at home to SC Paderborn

Kevin Kampl:

  • "We're obviously annoyed to concede in injury time, and the sending off was unnecessary too. Three points would've been a huge step towards Champions League football.

Paderborn played well with a man extra - but we shouldn't have dropped points. We defended with energy before the equaliser."

Coach Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "One point is too little for us. We didn't play well in the first have, but showed passion and energy all the same. The sending off made it harder, of course.

We knew that Paderborn would be tricky customers and threaten our goal. At the end of the day, it's gutting but deserved. We need to play much better on Friday against Hoffenheim."

Patrik Schick:

  • "Of course we're hugely disappointed to concede a late equaliser. We can be happy that the teams behind us dropped points too - that's the only positive.
We're still in a good position to qualify for the Champions League and we need to give our all in the coming weeks in order to reach this goal. We need to win in Hoffenheim."

Lukas Klostermann:

  • "The sending off was unnecessary, as was the way we conceded the equaliser at the end. We had enough chances to win, so it's a tough one to take. Our performances since the restart have been inconsistent, so we hope to get back to winning ways."
