Tyler Adams is back! After a six-month absence due to injury, our favourite American returned to the starting eleven to face FC Augsburg at home - a game that resulted in a 3-1 victory for RB Leipzig. He now has big goals for the second half of the season.
Tyler, how did it feel to finally be back in the team after such a long time on the sidelines?
It was a great feeling for me and a massive relief. It was nice not just to be training again but to feel the emotion of a game as well. To then play most of the game against Augsburg and celebrate a win was simply fantastic!
You joined RB Leipzig during the winter break last year. What has been your biggest moment for us playing since then?
Defintely the DFB-Pokal Final. Even though we lost, it was an amazing experience. It was the most important game of my career up to that point. Next time we want to win it.
What differences have you noticed between the MLS and the Bundesliga?
The pace of the game is definitely the biggest difference. You have to think faster and make quicker decisions here. The quality of the opposition is generally higher as well.
What is your individual goal for the second half of the season?
First and foremost - we want to win the league. That's what I'm aiming for and so is the rest of the team. If we carry on with the same consistency that we had in the first half of the season, then we're in with a good chance.
On a personal level - I want to play in the Champions League. Unfortunately, I was unable to do that during the group stage.
