"We have ourselves to blame"

2-2 against Hertha BSC - reaction from Julian Nagelsmann, Péter Gulacsi and Lukas Klostermann to the draw in the Red Bull Arena.

Julian Nagelsmann:

  • "I'm really not happy. We gifted a point to a team that didn't really play that well, and dropped two points ourselves. We started poorly, but then did quite well.

But we conceded a goal from a set-piece, which we failed to defend. But we went on to create some good chances and took the lead with 10 men. So what we got in the end is too little."

Péter Gulacsi:

  • "We didn't play well, at wasn't good enough really. We were precise enough in our game and weren't as dangerous as we were against Mainz. We lost the ball too much in midfield and didn't penetrate their back line enough.

We were fortunate to take the lead with 10 men and need to take the point."

Lukas Klostermann:

  • "Of course we hoped for more and there should've been more in it for us. However, we didn't play like we had prepared. We weren't as tough or sharp as normal. However, we shut down the spaces well with just 10 men, defended well and didn't let Hertha have too many chances.

We only have ourselves to blame for not getting more out of the game, because we didn't perform as well as we had in the previous two games. We'll analyse that and improve for the next game so that we can reach our goal: qualification for the Champions League."
