The man for the important goals! Emil Forsberg has been a Red Bull for over five years now. Our number 10 has experienced it all; from getting promoted to the Bundesliga to reaching the Champions League quarter final. He recently wrote his name into the history books by scoring the first ever goal in the Champions League in the club's history.

Here we will take you through the journey of Emil Forsberg's career so far, which started at just 17 years of age.

We visited Emil's Swedish homeland back in 2018 to find out more about our superstar.

Here is where it all began. Emil made his professional debut at just 17 years old, here at the stadium of his Swedish home-town club GIF Sundsvall...

...and he followed in great footsteps. Both his father (on the right) and his grandfather are living legends of the current second division side.

At the age of 21, Emil joined the Swedish record Champions Malmo FF as they went on to reach the group stages of the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

His strong performances were soon rewarded. Emil made his debut for the Swedish national team alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Moldova in January 2014.

Emil becomes a Red Bull! His journey at RB Leipzig began in January 2015 as he was warmly welcomed by our head coach at the time Alexander Zorniger. The start of something special!

Hit the ground running: Emil established himself as a key player in the 2015/16 season, providing seven assists, and he was chosen as our highest rated player that season by Kicker magazine.

INTO THE BUNDESLIGA! Our number 10 played a huge part in helping us to achieve our first ever promotion to the Bundesliga. And of course, it had to be celebrated properly.

One for the history books. After a strong debut season in Germany's top flight, RBL instantly qualified for the Champions League. Emil then went on to score the club's first ever goal in Europe's most prestigious competition, netting in a 1-1 draw against AS Monaco.

Pure elation! Emil scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win against Switzerland in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup.

Domestic success: Emil also scored the winner in the semi final of the 2018/19 DFB Pokal against HSV, securing RBL's qualification to the final of the competition.

The flying Swede: Emil secured Leipzig's qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League with his last-minute header against Benfica.
