Final stretch: The fight for the Champions League places

All of RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen's remaining fixtures | Still 12 points up for grabs | FC Bayern already qualified for 2020/21 Champions League

The race for Champions League qualification has begun. In second place with a six point gap between themselves and 5th place, Borussia Dortmund are currently best placed to qualify for Europe's elite competition. But, behind them, the race could hardly be tighter. The Red Bulls, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are all battling it out for a position in the top four of the table. Every point is important now.

We take a closer look at our remaining fixtures and the teams standing in the way of those crucial 12 points, as well as the schedules for each of our rivals.

Our goal is clear: To qualify for the 2020/21 Champions League.

Our remaining fixtures:

  • TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (A):
We face a trip to TSG Hoffenheim on Friday evening. Julian Nagelsmann's former side currently sit in 7th place, with their sights set on Europa League qualification. We hold a good recent record against TSG, with three wins and one draw from our last four matches against them.

  • Fortuna Düsseldorf (H):
Our final double gameweek of the season begins with a home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Wednesday. Uwe Roesler's side currently occupy the relegation playoff position and will be desperate to take home some crucial points in the relegation battle. We secured a 3-0 victory in the return fixture earlier this season and Fortuna are currently on a seven game streak without an away win.

  • Borussia Dortmund (H):
We're back at the Red Bull Arena again to take on Borussia Dortmund in our penultimate game of the season. Champions League qualification will lie in our own hands if we win both the fixtures leading up to this game. We have even more incentive to get the win over BVB as they took all three points on their last visit to our home ground.

  • FC Augsburg (A):
We'll be looking to finish the 2019/20 season on a high as we take on FC Augsburg on Matchday 34. We have a strong recent record against the Fuggerstädter as we remain undefeated from our last five matches against them. Nevertheless we are expecting a difficult game against FCA, who are still fighting for their survival.
