Julian Nagelsmann:
- "We played well overall and could've scored one or two more in that first half. We were energetic and better than we've been in recent weeks. So it's a deserved win and an important third-placed finish.
It feels really good to be in the Champions League, especially after such a hard season. I'm happy that the Bundesliga season is finally over.
It think it's evident that Timo Werner will leave a big hole in our team. I wish him all the best in London, and hope that he can reproduce the same level of performance there."
Timo Werner:
- "Firstly, it makes me really happy that we won our final game of the season. we qualified for the Champions League and ended the season on a high. The fact that I became Leipzig's record goalscorer makes me so proud, of course.
It's been a wonderful four years here in Leipzig. I was accepted and have felt great here the entire time. That was also a reason for me being able to perform well. Another was the team. They were alwasy behind me, even when it wasn't going so well and, during the week, I thanked my teammates for our time together and the friendships that I've made."
Emil Forsberg:
- "It was another tough game to end the season. Augsburg played well today, were solid at the back and didn't allow us anything. We finally played with a bit of freedom again and played some great football. We're happy that we could end the season with a win. We really wanted to secure third place. Overall, it was a perfect day!
It's great that Timo bagged a brace today. It's a perfect end to a successful era for RB Leipzig."
Marcel Halstenberg:
- "It wasn't an easy game! We had a few chances, but Augsburg made it really difficult for us, so we're really happy to get the win.
Timo is an incredible player. He proved that today. I wish him all the best!"
