With their second win of the season, a well-deserved 2-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart, Die Roten Bullen climbed to eighth in the table on Matchday 5.
The match, played out in front of 32.187 spectators in the Red Bull Arena, started off slowly. RBL had more possession, but weren't able to create many chances. This changed after 20 minutes, with both Timo Werner and Kevin Kampl going close, before team captain Willi Orban finally broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime with a rebound from Kevin Kampl's strike.
Die Roten Bullen took this momentum with them into the second half and created a wealth of great chances. Stuttgart keeper Ron-Robert Zieler and the post of the Stuttgart goal managed to keep RBL out, before Jean-Kévin Augustin finally put the game to bed with a fine strike from the edge of the box in the 80th minute, making it 2-0.
