RBL beat Leverkusen to climb to third place

Yussuf Poulsen scores a brace, with Lukas Klostermann also on the score sheet | 10th league game in a row undefeated | 36,155 watch on in the Red Bull Arena | Lukas Klostermann marks his 100th competitive game with a goal

Die Roten Bullen climbed up to third place in the Bundesliga with an impressive 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Red Bull Arena. RBL are now 10 games undefeated in the league.

In front of a crowd of 36,155, both teams started the game at a high tempo as expected, with RBl having the better chances. This showed as they took a deserved lead in the 27th minute through Yussuf Poulsen's brilliant flick.

After the break, both teams were wary of each other, and the match was quiet for a period. But this changed when Lukas Klostermann topped off his 100th appearance in an RBL shirt with a goal to make it 2-0. Leverkusen reacted thereafter and had a few good chances to get on the score sheet, but the RBL defence did brilliantly, especially Péter Gulácsi, who was forced to make a brilliant save to keep out Leon Bailey's free kick. Poulsen then grabbed his second of the game, scoring after a well-worked counter attack. The game finished 3-0, meaning Die Roten Bullen have now kept six clean sheets in a row.
