"We controlled the game as planned"

Ralf Rangnick, Kevin Kampl, Konrad Laimer and Yvon Mvogo give their verdict on a solid 2-0 Europa League win over Celtic on Thursday night.

RAlf Rangnick:

  • "After the first 20 minutes, we had control of the game just as we had planned. The team worked very hard off the ball, which was the key to our win today.

Now we're fully focusing on the game on Sunday against Schalke. We know that a tough match awaits us. Schalke are in the bottom half and want to change that, but we want to keep fighting near the top!

I'm sure that a lot of the players who were absent today will return for the game at Celtic Park. There'll definitely be a great atmosphere there, and I hope that a lot of fans will travel to support us in Scotland."

Kevin Kampl:

  • "It was a top performance. We created some brilliant chances and scored two great goals. We maintained our focus until the final minute, although we probably could have added another goal or two.

We will do all we can to get another three points in Glasgow and get one foot in the next round."

Konrad Laimer:

  • "It was a well-deserved win. We laboured a bit at the start, but then came into the game and took control.

We could have even scored a few more - I had a great opportunity. Still, we're very pleased with the result."

Yvon Mvogo:

  • "What a great feeling to win at home! We stayed tight as a team for 90 minutes and remained focused. The atmosphere was brilliant and it was a really enjoyable match.

It was hard to stay alert, as not a lot came my way. It was even better to make the save at the end that guaranteed us a clean sheet."

Bereit für den Herbst!
