With the conclusion of the international break, the Bundesliga returns this Saturday, as Die Roten Bullen take on Wolfsburg in the Volkswagen Arena at 15:30 CET. RBL will look to pick up from where they left off before the break.
Ahead of the game, Coach Ralf Rangnick talked about the team's upcoming opponents and gave a squad update.
Ralf Rangnick:
- "Wolfsburg have great quality, that's without question. They have strong players in both their midfield and attack. Bruno Labbadia generally likes to play an attacking and attractive game. If we give Wolfsburg little space and play with a similar efficiency to our last two games, then I'm very confident that we will also be successful tomorrow.
We're fully focussed on Wolfsburg. If someone's not 100% fit, then they won't be playing. The upcoming Europa League game against Salzburg is currently not on our minds. Of course, we find ourselves well placed in all three competitions, but the overriding priority for us is always the upcoming match.
We've conceded the least attempts on target and the least amount of goals in the league. We want to keep it this way until Christmas, at best. A large part of this good defensive form is down to Péter Gulácsi. If you look at the statistics, he's currently the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga.”
Personalinfos:
- Marcelo Saracchi is fully fit again and in contention to play against Wolfsburg.
- Kevin Kampl (ankle problem), Marcel Sabitzer (calf problem) und Dayot Upamecano (knee problem) are all doubts.
- Emil Forsberg is being eased back into training with the whole squad.
