Ralf Rangnick: “We have to be prepared for a difficult Augsburg side”

Our head coach discusses the upcoming Bundesliga away game on Saturday afternoon, the opponents and squad situation | Emil Forsberg is out with a groin problem | Marcelo Saracchi returned to training today after international duty

After the international break, the Bundesliga is finally back! On Saturday (15:30 CEST), Leipzig host FC Augsburg.

Head Coach Ralf Rangnick spoke ahead of the game about the upcoming match-up and squad information.

Ralf Rangnick:

  • "Augsburg have really great offensive quality and give off a real sense of danger when they attack. They are a difficult team to play against since they are so strong in their play. We must therefore be totally prepared for tomorrow and go into the match with the right attitude.

  • "It's still open as to whether we play with three or four in midfield - it mostly depends on who is actually able to play. We have at least 15 or 16 players that can undoubtedly play from the start. After the international games we have to see who is in the best condition and is able to play. We showed in Hoffenheim that we can win away against strong opposition and we want to do that again this time around."
Emil Forsberg is unable to play against Augsburg on Saturday due to a groin injury.
Marcelo Saracchi returned to training after international duty. His place in tomorrow’s squad is still open.

squad info:

  • Emil Forsberg has been ruled out due to a groin injury.
  • Marcelo Saracchi returned to training today after playing for his country. It is uncertain as to whether he will be able to play on Saturday.
