Another great display as RBL beat Hannover 3-0

Marcel Halstenberg opens the scoring from the spot | Willi Orban gets a brace after the break | Ibrahima Konaté receives fifth yellow card of the season and is suspended for next game vs. Eintracht Frankfurt

On Matchday 20, Die Roten Bullen claimed their second away win in a row with a deserved 3-0 victory over Hannover 96. In front of a crowd of 32,400, including 1,400 travelling Leipzig fans, RBL claimed their eleventh win of the season.

The visitors started strongly and never looked back, playing on the front foot and creating multiple chances. The best one of these fell to Matheus Cunha in the 19th minute, but his header bounced agonisingly against the underside of the crossbar and stayed out. Leipzig's pressure eventually paid off just before the half-time whistle however, when Cunha was fouled in the Hannover penalty area. Marcel Halstenberg stepped up to convert an excellent penalty and send the visitors into the changing rooms with a deserved 1-0 win.

There was one change for Die Roten Bullen after the half-time interval, with substitute goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo replacing Péter Gulácsi due to a muscle injury. RBL kept up their pressure from the opening 45 minutes, eventually putting the game to bed through two headers from an unlikely goalscorer, in the shape of Willi Orban. Marcel Halstenberg assisted the first, while Emil Forsberg, returning from a four-month spell on the sidelines, claimed the second. RBL finished the game as deserved victors, the final score being 3-0.
