"The win brings us one step closer to fulfilling our aims for the season"

Ralf Rangnick, Kevin Kampl, Ibrahima Konaté and Marcel Sabitzer react to the 2-0 home win over Wolfsburg

Ralf rangnick:

  • "All in all, I'm pleased with how the team presented itself today. We chose a very attacking lineup - it couldn't have been more attack-heavy. Despite that, we managed to stay balanced, working well off the ball and offering a threat up front. Wolfsburg have their keeper to thank for the scoreline not being greater than 2-0. We created brilliant chances and gave 100% until the very end.

It's brilliant to see the form the lads are in at the moment. I hope that Tyler Adams and Yussuf Poulsen return to training next week, because then we'll have even more quality to choose from. It's a very good situation for me as coach!"

Kevin KAMPL:

  • "I'm pleased I scored of course - it doesn't happen that often. I know I can shoot well with my weaker foot. The ball was perfect and went exactly where I wanted it to go. We started the game well, especially in our press, and also had plenty of good chances in the second half. The win was crucial and brings us one step closer to fulfilling our aims for the season."

Ibrahima Konaté:

  • "We're very pleased with today's win. We played especially well in the first half, scoring two brilliant goals. As a defender, I want to keep clean sheets of course. We did that yet again today - 15 clean sheets for the season is really good!"

Marcel Sabitzer:

  • "We combined together very well over long periods of the match, and could have scored a third or fourth goal. A 2-0 win against Wolfsburg is still a top result. It's incredibly difficult to score against us. We always play very compactly at the back, and again defended tightly today. That's what we're built on."
