Die Roten Bullen will take on Ukrainian team FC Zorya Luhansk in the first leg of their Europa League qualification play-off round.
Before the game, head coach Ralf Rangnick gives his thoughts on the game and current squad situation.
Ralf Rangnick:
-
On Thursday we are expecting a physical challenge. They’re a tricky side to play against. It will be a difficult game and it definitely won’t be pretty. We’re up against a very defensive team who work well as a unit.
-
We’ve shown we can play aggressive football as well. We know what’s coming and we want to put ourselves in a good position for the second leg.
Team News:
- Timo Werner has recovered from stomach ache and travels with the team to Ukraine.
- Jean-Kévin Augustin will miss out on the game due to a stomach bug. It is unclear whether he will return to the team for Sunday’s fixture.
- Marcel Sabitzer will miss the Luhansk game due to an injury to the adductors.
- Kevin Kampl will not play against Luhansk due to a muscle injury. It remains uncertain if he will be fit to play against Dortmund.
- Youth team player Erik Majetschak is in the squad for the Luhansk game.
