"We were patient and in the end, we deservedly won"

Reaction from Ralf Rangnick, Yussuf Poulsen, Marcel Sabitzer and Emil Forsberg after the 3-1 win over VfB Stuttgart.

Ralf rangnick:

  • "We not only changed our formation in the second half, but also our approach to the match. It was vital that we showed a different side to our game in the second 45 minutes.

It was certainly no brilliant performance from us, and we've definitely played better games. But I'm happy that the game panned out like it did. We've claimed three crucial points today."

YUSSUF POULSEN:

  • "There were quite a few bad periods of play. In the second half, we got better though, and played more attacking football. We were patient, created chances and scored our goals. In the end, we deservedly won."

Marcel sabitzer:

  • "It was a hard-fought game. Stuttgart tried everything to put us off, including plenty of tackles. It worked for a long time, but we played calmly in the second half to bring it home.

Of course I'm pleased that I scored, because more often than not recently I've hit the post, or had my shots saved. We're happy that we've taken three important points - we really wanted to do that."

EMIL FORSBERG:

  • "I'm really pleased to have started again and been able to get out there. It was an awesome feeling. We started very well and scored an early goal. We laboured after the penalty and lost the ball a lot. But at half-time we said to ourselves that we wanted to show that we're a top team - and we did that."
