"We're prepared for everything, and we want to win at all costs"

Coach Ralf Rangnick speaks in the press conference ahead of Saturday's game vs. Stuttgart | Kevin Kampl and Konrad Laimer miss out | Willi Orban, Stefan Ilsanker and Diego Demme currently stand on four yellow cards for the season - one more will result in a one-match suspension

Kicking off on Saturday at 15:30 CET, Die Roten Bullen visit sixteenth-placed Stuttgart.

Ahead of Matchday 22, Coach Ralf Rangnick spoke about the game and gave an update on the squad.

Ralf Rangnick:

  • "Stuttgart are working on their possession game under coach Markus Weinzierl. At the moment, they're not in a great position in the table, but that doesn't make them any less dangerous. I think Stuttgart will try out various ways to get something out of the game. We're prepared for everything, and we want to win at all costs. We want to continue our streak of winning away without conceding.

We've started 2019 well. Our defence has become a real strength over the course of the season - at the start, it was our weakness. Now, it's become a weapon, as seen from the goals and assists that have come from the back.

I'm pleased with how the players are getting on in training. It's a good mixture of relaxation, fun, and concentration. It feels good. Now we must make sure that it stays like that for the next few weeks and months."

Squad update:

  • Kevin Kampl misses out due to ankle problem.
  • Konrad Laimer is suspended after accruing his fifth yellow card of the campaign.
  • Willi Orban, Stefan Ilsanker and Diego Demme are one yellow card away from a one-match suspension.
  • Dayot Upamecano and Amadou Haidara are long-term absentees.
