RB Leipzig beat Schalke to claim fifth consecutive away win

The winning run away from home continues, as RB Leipzig won their fifth consecutive away win. Timo Werner scored the game’s only goal in the 14th minute.

The hosts flew out of the blocks with a point to prove and created several early chances, but Ralf Rangnick’s team slowly settled and gained control in the match. In just the 14th minute, the first big chance for Die Roten Bullen produced the first goal, Timo Werner tapping into an empty net after a fine save from Nübel denied Yussuf Poulsen.

Schalke pushed hard in the second half in search of an equaliser, but were wasteful in front of goal, ensuring a fifth away win in a row and 12th clean sheet of the season for Péter Gulásci and Co.
