Hannes Wolf will transfer to RB Leipzig on the 1st of July 2019 from FC Red Bull Salzburg, making him the club's first arrival of the summer. The 19-year-old Austrian has signed a long-term contract until the 30th June 2024.

The attacking midfielder started his career rising through the ranks at AKA Red Bull Salzburg, winning the UEFA Youth League with the U19 squad in the 2016/17 season. In January 2017, he moved to FC Liefering, before transferring to FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga one and a half years later. In just 23 games this season, the left-footed Austrian has claimed five goals and nine assists.

Wolf has won six caps for the Austria U21 team while playing in European Championship matches.

Sporting director and coach RALF RANGNICK:

  • "Hannes has caught our attention due to his prominent development in recent years. This is reflected not only in him winning the UEFA Youth League with the Red Bull Salzburg youth team, but also making numerous appearances both in Austrian and on the European stage - despite his very young age.

These strengths make him a versatile attacking midfielder, and we're pleased that he's decided to take the next step in his career from the start of July."
