RB Leipzig's second pre-season friendly ended all square after fourth tier ZFC Meuselwitz fought back from 2-0 down to level the score late on. 23 RBL players made an appearance in Meuselwitz on Tuesday evening, in a game split into three thirds of half an hour due to the high temperatures.
The hosts started aggressively and showed purpose, hitting the post just eight minutes in through former RBL man Sebastian Albert. Two minutes later, Rangnick's men took the lead through Jean-Kévin Augustin, who had a number of chances to double the team's lead, as did new signing Cunha.
Fabrice Hartmann was the man who eventually found the second, after Rangnick had made nine changes after the first third of the game. ZFC Meuselwitz then began to look more threatening going forward and despite Julian Krahl in the RBL goal being able to make a top save to deny Michel Rudolph, the hosts pulled a goal back from a corner: long-serving RBL player Henrik Ernst jumped highest to reduce his team's deficit. Die Roten Bullen continued to create chances but failed to take advantage, for which they were punished with just three minutes left to play by René Weinert with the equaliser.
