"We want to win our tenth game in a row"

Ralf Rangnick previews Friday's game vs. Mainz | Tyler Adams, Dayot Upamecano and Yvon Mvogo remain sidelined | Emile Smith Rowe and Bruma are fit again

Matchday 32 sees Die Roten Bullen travel to Mainz. Kickoff against the Zerofivers is at 20:30 CEST.
Ahead of the game, Ralf Rangnick spoke about the match and gave an update on the squad.

Ralf Rangnick

  • "The season isn't over yet, and there's still 3 Bundesliga games to go. We want to play at our highest level. We don't need any more motivation. We have a point to prove in Mainz after last season's result. They aren’t a team that will just park the bus. They’ll try to be active and play attacking football. Our game relies on well-timed runs, the team moving in synchronicity, and putting pressure on the ball.

It's important for us that we win games. The way the team are at the moment, everyone will be striving for the three points. We want to get that 10th away win in a row and so we'll need to put in a great performance."
Tyler Adams will again miss out against Mainz.

  • Tyler Adams (adductor), Dayot Upamecano (knee) and Yvon Mvogo (ACL) are long-term absentees.
  • Emile Smith Rowe (groin) and Bruma (thigh) are fit again and could return to the squad.
  • Diego Demme, Stefan Ilsanker, Kevin Kampl (all four yellow cards) and Marcel Sabitzer (nine yellow cards) are one yellow card away from a one-match suspension.
