Die Roten Bullen won their first home match of 2019 in a breathtaking display on Saturday evening, defeating Hertha Berlin 5-0. RB Leipzig never looked back after opening the scoring in the 17th minute, going on to claim their 50th ever win in the Bundesliga.
A sold-out Red Bull Arena watched on as Die Roten Bullen put on a masterclass. Emil Forsberg opened the scoring in the 17th minute, grabbing his first goal since returning from injury. Yussuf Poulsen scored shortly before half-time, before going on to score two further goals just five minutes apart in the second half to complete his hat-trick. His third was a delightful finish, a delicate touch over a stranded Jarstein in the Hertha net, after Tyler Adams played the Dane through with an exquisite defence-splitting pass.
The floodgates were open at this point, with Amadou Haidara grabbing Leipzig's fifth and final goal, his first strike for the club on his Bundesliga starting debut. The Leipzig bulls romped to a deserved 5-0 victory, strengthening their hold on third place and Champions League football for next season with just 7 matchdays to go.
