"We did incredibly to ramp up the pressure after the break"

The thoughts of Ralf Rangnick, Stefan Ilsanker, Lukas Klostermann and Emil Forsberg after the 0-0 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt

Ralf rangnick:

  • "As expected, both sides made the game intense today. We did incredibly to ramp up the pressure after the break. I'm not pleased with the result, what with the chances we had, but I'm still very pleased with how we played.

It says a lot when you let a team that is so strong in attack have only one or two chances in a game. We were very focussed today. Our back three of Willi, Stefan and Nordi were really influential today.

Although we had Wednesday's DFB-Pokal win in our legs, I was very impressed with how we played. If we perform similarly in upcoming weeks, I'm confident that we'll achieve our aims."

Stefan ilsanker:

  • "We put in a lot of effort today, but unfortunately missed out on the three points. The whole team worked very well defensively and we barely let Frankfurt have a chance on goal.

We squandered a lot of good chances up front, unfortunately. A win was possible and would have been deserved. Still, we're happy with the point."

Lukas klostermann:

  • "We laboured for 90 minutes, getting more out of the game and of course creating a lot of good chances. Still, the 0-0 is OK for us, even though we would have liked to have won!

We kept a clean sheet against one of the best attacking sides in the league. Our three centre-backs did brilliantly. Now, we focus on our next challenge."

  • "It's a shame. We played superbly and could have rewarded ourselves with three points - we should have, really. But the ball just didn't want to go in today.

I'm feeling good. I've been completely pain-free for four weeks now and I'm finding my rhythm again. I hope I can now help the team out a lot in the second half of the season."
