RB Leipzig lost 3-0 to FC Bayern München in the final of the DFB-Pokal on Saturday. Robert Lewandowski (29', 85') and Kingsley Coman (78') got the goals for the winning side.
Die Roten Bullen started the game strongly, and had the first big chance of the game in the 11th minute. Yussuf Poulsen's bullet header from four yards was expertly saved by Bayern custodian Manuel Neuer, however. Against the run of play, the record champions took the lead in the 29th minute, as Robert Lewandowski headed home. The scoreline was 1-0 at the break.
Leipzig started the second half with plenty of momentum. Despite numerous chances, the ball failed to find the back of the net, as Neuer once again withstood a barrage of Leipzig pressure. With Die Roten Bullen piling men forward in search of the elusive goal, the Bavarian outift extended their advantage on the counter twice, with Lewandowski getting another and Kingsley Coman also adding his name to the scoresheet. An exciting and hard-fought contest ended 3-0 to Bayern.
Congratulations to FC Bayern on winning the double.
