"We can be very proud looking back on this season"

Ralf Rangnick, Yussuf Poulsen and Péter Gulácsi react to the DFB-Pokal final defeat in Berlin.

Ralf rangnick:

  • "The disappointment is immeasurable because we didn't need to lose the game. We were dominant for 30 minutes and only failed to take the lead. We then conceded and we lost our heads a bit.

We created three huge chances. We didn't take them and then things got difficult. It was an even contest, however - that makes the defeat even harder to stomach.

Still, we can be very proud looking back on this season. We qualified for the Champions League with four games to spare, beat three Bundesliga teams on our way to Berlin this evening, and had a remarkable final."

Yussuf Poulsen:

  • "We didn't take our chances in the first half, and then we conceded against the run of play. Bayern took their chances. We didn't.

It's hard to be proud when you've just left the pitch after a final defeat. But the feeling will definitely come."

Peter GuláCsi:

  • "We're all very disappointed of course. We gave it our all. We played really well in the first 30 minutes and were aggressive. But we had to take our chances.

It was our first final. It's not easy to cope with that. We'll need a few days now. It's brilliant what our fans have achieved and how they've pushed us on. All in all, we can be very proud of ourselves."
